Dr. Khouri Barnes is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Pediatric & Adult Specialist with advanced training and expertise in psychological, psychoeducational, neuropsychological, medical, and forensic evaluations across the lifespan. She is the founder and clinical director of Blueprint Psychology, a specialty practice serving children, adolescents, adults, families, and communities agencies throughout North Metro Atlanta and in over 40 states virtually.
Dr. Barnes earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology and also holds a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her clinical training includes advanced neuropsychological assessment experience at the University of Chicago Medical Center, as well as postdoctoral training focused on comprehensive and complex neuropsychological evaluation. Her doctoral research examined concussion assessment in high school athletes, reflecting an early integration of clinical psychology, neurocognitive assessment, and sports performance-related concerns.
Dr. Barnes specializes in complex diagnostic clarification, particularly when symptoms overlap or previous evaluations have not provided clear answers. Her areas of specialization include ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities (including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia), gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) profiles, executive functioning difficulties, trauma-related concerns, emotional and behavioral regulation, and developmental differences. She provides comprehensive evaluations for school, college, and workplace accommodations, including IEPs, 504 Plans, and disability services.
In addition to clinical and educational assessments, Dr. Barnes conducts presurgical psychological evaluations for medical teams, including bariatric surgery, spinal cord stimulator procedures, pain management interventions, and other surgeries requiring psychological readiness documentation. Her evaluations emphasize emotional stability, coping skills, treatment adherence, and factors that support successful outcomes.
Dr. Barnes also has extensive experience providing forensic-related evaluations, expert testimony, and consultation for attorneys, courts, and agencies. Her work includes evaluations related to parental fitness, trauma and domestic violence, substance use, competency and capacity, bonding and attachment, disability, and second-opinion or independent evaluations. Her reports are clear, objective, data-driven, and written to meet the standards required for legal and multidisciplinary settings.
She is the founder of Blueprint Performance Lab™, a specialized division focused on sports performance-informed psychological and neurocognitive evaluation for athletes and high-performing individuals. This work integrates principles from clinical psychology and neuropsychology to support attention, regulation, recovery from concussion, and cognitive demands associated with performance under pressure.
Dr. Barnes is known for her clear communication, thorough evaluations, and practical, actionable recommendations. She collaborates closely with pediatricians, psychiatrists, surgeons, schools, therapists, and legal professionals to ensure that evaluation results are meaningful, usable, and supportive of next steps.
